Knights of Virginia Assisting Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities: Join Us for Our Tootsie Roll Drive April 17 – 20

Each year, Knights of Columbus from around the world raise funds for people with intellectual disabilities and put a smile on people’s faces by offering them complimentary Tootsie Rolls. Last year, our council raised the highest amount in our history, raising over $3,700.
This year,we will collect contributions at the Wa Wa at 13355 Minnieville Rd. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Apr 17-19, and collect contributions at Our Lady of Angels parish on Saturday and Sunday, Apr 19-20. We'll work two hour shifts at the Wa Wa on each day starting at 8am and after each Mass at the parish. Please consider joining this Knights-wide effort today. Sign up by contacting Frank Nolan, our Grand Knight . If you stop by Wa Wa, please let the store manager, Tim, know how grateful we are to work at his store each year!

Knights & Squires Make a Difference at Special Olympics Basketball

Knights of Columbus families and Squires volunteered at this year's Special Olympics Virginia basketball tournament at Freedom High School. We officiated the games, kept time and score, and most importantly, we cheered on the athletes. We made a difference today! We'll offer more Special Olympics events in the future. Stay tuned!

Defending Life

The Knights were out in force for this year's Right to Life March in Washington. Our council donated $500 to support the parish bus bringing people to the march. Our Chaplain, Fr. O'Hare and over 12 Knights and their families joined thousands to defend the Right to Life of the unborn, disabled, and aged.

Celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany

This year, we came together to pray and sing Christmas carols with the 10:00 choir. We enjoyed a dinner buffet and danced the night away. We had a wonderful time with honored guests from the Northern Virginia Association of People with Down Syndrome. Special thanks go to the Icemen, a legendary band from Prince William County, who generously offered their time and talent to make our evening one to remember.

"One for All and All for One!"

Over 120 people participated in our first Family Masquerade Night. Special thanks go to the many Squires and Knights of Columbus families who organized the event. Cici’s donated pizzas for the event and everyone brought a dessert to share. In our costume contest: the Jester, Spiderman, and one of the Hippie Triplets won the day! The young people enjoyed musical chairs, group dances, and decorating pumpkins.

Celebrating the Feast of St. Patrick

With 300 guests, we celebrated the Feast of St. Patrick with prayer, fine music provided by the Icemen and the Irish Roses, crafts and face painting for the whole family, Irish dancing by students from the Maple School of Dance, and a plentiful dinner buffet. We saluted members of the military who had just returned from deployment in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other hot spots. Finally, we awarded scholarships to this year’s Our Lady of Angels altar server class and presented each with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, generously donated by A Wing & a Prayer Catholic Bookstore. Thank you to the many performers and volunteers who donated their skill and time to make the evening a resounding success!
